Features of the Park
Most dog owners have been to a few dog parks in their day, and by now, you know the difference between a good one and a not-so-good one. Tom Bolack Urban Forest and Dog Park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, so you’ll have no trouble fitting in your dog’s recreation time into your schedule. The park is enclosed so leash-free play is safe, but big and small dogs have to intermingle, as there is only one dog-friendly space—no separate enclosures. It features a dirt ground, rather than asphalt or gravel, which is a bit easier on dogs’ paws, and while there’s no drinking fountain for the pups, there’s a faucet that can fill up a water bowl if you bring one with you. Bags are sometimes provided, but it’s best to bring your own just to be on the safe side.
The Tom Bolack Urban Forest and Dog Park is located near Jerry Cline Park, so if you’re in the area there, you’re already close by. After your pooch tires him or herself out running around, check out one of Albuquerque’s pet-friendly restaurants for a refreshing drink or meal, or make a day of dog park touring and visit the Coronado Dog Park!
Albuquerque is proud to be a dog-friendly area, and when you travel here with your pet, you’ll see why so many people love Tom Bolack Urban Forest and Dog Park.
