When you’re getting ready to go on a vacation, one of the things you probably think about is where the hotel you’ll stay at is located in relation to all the things you want to do while you’re there. Often, though, hotels located a bit out of the way will boast lower prices. Is it worth it to take advantage of the deal? Not usually. While you might save a few bucks—the price difference between comparable hotels whose only difference is location is usually negligible—you’ll have a better experience if you stay in a more preferable location.
Proximity to Desirable Local Attractions
If you’re traveling with the family or don’t want to have to drive to popular attractions in the city you’re visiting, location of the hotel is everything. Being close to the places you want to go means you won’t have to spend a lot of time commuting to theme parks, museums, or other sight-seeing ventures. It also means that you can do more, since there won’t be as much distance between activities. Making the best of a vacation means being able to do everything—or at least most things—you want to.
Another thing to keep in mind is whether you or the city you’re staying in has transportation. If you’re renting a car, you probably don’t need to worry about much, but if you’re relying on taxis or public transportation, the closer you stay to nightlife and attractions, the better. Staying closer to the popular parts of town means less expensive cab fares and a higher likelihood of there being public transit stops within walking distance of your hotel.
While hotels that are less expensive may seem like a good idea, they may not offer nearly as many amenities or features offered. For one, they may have fewer guests and thus a smaller budget to work with, but they may also be able to charge less because they offer fewer amenities. When you’re looking for great Albuquerque hotel rooms, it’s worth it to stay in the closer, better-equipped hotel, especially if it means you’ll enjoy your vacation that much more.
